NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS` MEDICAL INSURANCE

Instruction

According to Article 21 of the “National Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan” and Article 7 of the “Minghsin University of Science and Technology Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan”: When registering with their intended institutions, new international students must present proof of attending medical and injury insurance policies, which they purchased in foreign countries, covering a valid period of no less than 4 months starting from the day when they entered Taiwan. If students do not have an appropriate insurance policy before entering Taiwan, they will be asked to comply with the policy stated in Item 2.

If students do not have an appropriate insurance policy before entering Taiwan, they will be requested to purchase the international student insurance policy that costs NT$2,000 for 4 months, when arriving in Taiwan. The valid day of the insurance will begin when international students arrive in Taiwan and clear their expenses. Therefore, if a student decides to take this policy instead of their own policy, as stated in Item 1, the student may not be covered by any insurance policy before the policy in Item 2 becomes effective, and the student shall be liable for it.

Payment:NTD 2,000 for first four months

 

 

NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE(NHI)

Instruction

According to National Health Law, Article 10, Item 2, and Article 11, Item 1 of Taiwan, international students staying in Taiwan for at least 4 months and holding Alien Residence Certificates (ARC) are eligible for and shall enroll in the National Health Insurance (NHI) Program. Students will have to pay the insurance premium during the registration each semester. The insurance fee for students enrolled in NHI is NT$4,494 per semester or NT$749 per month (the premium rate is subjected to change).
